It's also likely that energy companies will join this list if the Trump administration strikes down the SEC's climate disclosure rules. While the agency voluntarily stayed such climate disclosure rules last year, completely striking the rules would provide energy industry companies much greater certainty that the compliance costs of a ‘moving target’ set of disclosure rules will not affect financial results and related periodic reporting as a public company.
