On March 25, 2024, PHMSA issued a call for comments on proposals to facilitate information gathering on the blending of hydrogen gas and natural gas within existing gas pipelines.  According to the announcement, “PHMSA recognizes that information gaps must be resolved to demonstrate the integrity of the existing gas pipeline systems to transport blends of natural gas and hydrogen gas.” The Agency is proposing to modify a number of reporting forms to collect additional information related to hydrogen blending.
